The passion for wine has been transmitted in the Boutemy family for 4 generations.
Château Haut-Lagrange is a family-owned winery created in 1989 by Francis Boutemy at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. His passion for wine was transmitted to him by his grandparents, former owners of a Cru Classé in Léognan.
Ghislain Boutemy, son of Francis, now manages the vineyard and winemaking. He is surrounded by a permanent team of 3 people who share the same passion
Château Haut-Lagrange is located in Léognan, in the prestigious communal appellation of Graves Pessac-Léognan. Vine was already cultivated in the 18th century at the current location of the estate and this production was cited as one of the most remarkable in the region.
During the vineyard's planting, Francis Boutemy optimized the perfect knowledge of this terroir of gravels that he has seen elvolved over the decades. The grape varieties are typical from Pessac-Léognan appellation: Sauvignon and Sémillon for the white ; Cabernet-sauvignon and Merlot for the red.
Passion and know-how are ideally combined in Haut-Lagrange to develop new winemaking methods, create new tools that are unique and of course make wines of high quality.
Bout'Mobile, a hand-harvesting machine created by Francis Boutemy, is regularly featured in the press at harvest time. It allows to harvest a grape of quality that are sorted directly in the vineyard, it ensures the comfort and the safety of the harvesters and operators.
The expertise of the entire team and the working methods that follow the Terra Vitis specifications guarantee a winemaking process and quality wines.
We work every day to produce wines of excellent quality, while care for people and the environment. The Terra Vitis and HEV labels certify our eco-friendly approach. Our farming practices are eco-friendly. We care for our environment and maintain a rich biodiversity on our vineyard plots.
